The Paseo...
Or... a Z4 coupe, Land Cruiser, T100, XJ, 1990 NA Supra, 4Runner... Or my dad's Rialta?
![]() 07/05/2019 at 21:18 |

Whichever is most likely to break, for maximum oppo content.

Whatever you think will bring you the most enjoyment.
Also, surprising suggestion: why not a BRZ?
![]() 07/05/2019 at 21:20 |

Sadly that would be the Rialta, so I'm just gonna assume you meant I should buy the Z4 excellent choice

Plenty of time to find a nice Tercel wagon if the longbed isn’t up to it.

Whatever rents for $20/day at your closest rental agency. So...a Versa sedan.

“N... Joi ?” You’ll have to elaborate, I don’t speak French.
BRZ: no grudges of any kind, just doesn't tickle my arbitrary fancies.
![]() 07/05/2019 at 21:23 |

Longbed would make it no problem.
Any Tercel I touch would not.

two business class round trip tickets on a Delta 757...

I can stomach an honest versa, but in sedan form? Now you’ve gone too far.

You know that fuzzy feeling your get when you go to the beach with your dog when you’re not working? Probably that.
I’m curious as to what sporty coupes we could get you in for cheaper than a Z4 and still be fun. I feel like a G37 also would do nothing for you.

Have been having this discussion with my wife. It would still be significantly cheaper to drive my gas guzzler than fly. Except you lose more time. And time is money. But money is also money. Plus you fly down and then you pay for a rental car anyway. When you could just drive and *have* your car. The debate continues.

It’s nice to have options.

I think I only want the Z4 coupe because there's less than 1k available with a stick and I'm a masochist like that, as evidenced by my current and previous cars.

That’s fair.

I just found 2011 XJ PORTFOLIO. With a 178,000 miles for 7500 bucks, that's a fantastic way to go that far.

1995 Mercedes 500SL.

Depends on where. Is it farm land USA or scenic, or back country?
Farm land, most comfortable.
Sc enic, probably z4 or supra
Back country, take any 4x4 besides the jeep

I drove one from Denver to Amarillo and back. Never again.

Supra

Interdasting, but sadly I was referring to the XJ Cherokee... should have specified.

My sister is looking at buying one. Without cruise control.
She says she doesn’t want it. I give her a month if she buys it before she starts complaining.

Assuming you’re driving on asphalt, I’d go Supra. There’s something I love about a Supra without all the preconceptions that the 4th gen entails.
I base this thought on the fact that I’ve driven none of the cars, but I’m emotionally drawn to the Supra... but the XJ is probably sweet for eating up those miles, too.
![]() 07/05/2019 at 21:51 |

I’d drive it off a cliff with myself inside it. It’s the second-worst vehicle I’ve ever been stuck driving long distances in (only because the Aveo caused physical pain).
![]() 07/05/2019 at 21:53 |

Yeah, a shitty long distance vehicle would be awful out here (or anywhere, really). I’m hoping some other moron buys it before she’s ready to, or that she finds something better.

Depends on the drive! Z4 coupe is probably he answer either way though.

How about a Pontiac Vibe?

It’s really uncomfortable after hour 5.
Although it is significantly more fuel efficient.

My 05 Corolla was as well now that I think about it. Granted I’m 6’3” and never felt like the seat bottom went out enough to support my thighs.
Perhaps the nicest 4Runner you can find?
![]() 07/05/2019 at 22:59 |

Pretty sure that's a Supra
![]() 07/05/2019 at 23:45 |

Not if you get some crazy shitty tickets for shitty seats on spirit/frontier/allegiant and Priceline the rental. You could have a real shitty time after all's said and done.

That Z4 is a stunning car.

I vaguely know a guy who owns ( or did st the time) a beautiful blue one. I actually drove it briefly.

That’s my favorite color for these. Please, PLEASE, do tell me: how did it drive?

Great I’m sure, it was only for about 5 minutes about 6 years ago so I don’t really remember I’m afraid.
Fun fact, I was told as stock these have a thing that restricts how fast you can dump the clutch to avoid breaking things. The owner had it removed,

A plane.
Maybe it’s the over 26 hours I spent in the car last week that has me sour for any road trips...
